Yadda Yadda Yadda
OK, so yes it has been forever since I have posted anything of value so here is at least something to keep you going. I have to admit that I spend most of my time writing on Facebook now and in doing so have neglected all of you here. For that I am sorry. Also it has been cold and grey here for the last few months. I saw the sun today for the first time in a long time. I have seen the moon only once in the last two months.
So what I have given you here is a list of random fun facts about me that I had posted on Facebook and since most of you are not on my friends list you never got to see these.

1. My birth name is Thomas Christopher and was changed to Sean Francis.
2. When people ask me where I am from, I like to say, "My mom's uterus" because it is both funny and true. But really, Red Bank NJ. home to Jay and Silent Bob.
3. I have a huge family. I have 3 older brothers, 2 younger sisters (same mom, different dad) 2 step brothers and 2 step sisters from my dads second marriage and 2 step sisters from my step dads first marriage. (but did not live with them) We put the "fun" in dysfunctional. ;)
4. I have the imagination of a child, and the whole world amazes me everyday.
5. I love myself. Not in an egotistical way but in a real and honest way. It took me 34 years to do it but once I understood who I was life got 100 times better. Not many people can honestly say that. I feel lucky I figured out who I am when I did.
6. I have lived almost all of my adult life alone. And have no problem being alone for two reason. see #4 and #5. I feel most people who hate to be alone are like that because they don't have #5 like I do, but that's just my opinion.
7. My favorite original quote "There is a fine line between legend and cautionary tale. I just hope I die on the right side of the line." - we will see.
8. I prefer a sativa over coffee for breakfast and an indica over sleeping pills at night.
9. I consider myself an amateur volcanologist. And I have shared my love of volcanos with over 74 different people. 3 of which have followed my lead and also are now amateur volcanologist themselves.
10. I have flown around the world, visited 15 countries. Visited over 35 states. New Zealand is the most beautiful place on earth, so stay away please. ;)
11. is in fact eleven. Life goes to 11, just twist the nob that little extra, trust me it's there it just my not be marked as such.
12. I soloed after 12 hours of flight lessons and wish flying was not so expensive. And prefer flying IFR than VFR, I don't trust my eyes, I trust my instruments. I have also flown a glider and hang glider, both also very cool.
13. I have bungee jumped 5 times, the longest being a jump in New Zealand that was 135m (450 ft) and did not crap my pants once.
14. I have been skydiving 3 times and loved every second of it.
15. I have performed as a "stunt cock" (you don't see my face, just my junk) in over 70 adult movies.
16. I enjoy making people spit water all over there computer screens with things like #15
17. There is only one Queen in my life and she does not live in Buckingham Palace, in fact she lives on the North Side of Richmond.
18. Eighteen is easy, it is the age I seem to be stuck at. Of course this is just the average with the range of 12 to 80. It just seems silly to grow up if you don't have to. Plus most grown ups are miserable, who wants that.
19. I never forget that I won the genetic lottery, that's what affords me #18. I am thankful everyday.
20. There are only 3 people I would change lives with. Bono, pre political days, Johnny Depp, (the dude is just cool) and George Clooney, (because even Sinatra would want to hang with George.)
21. COBS SC-27 - the greatest 83 days of my life. The foundation on which everything today is built. Without it and the friends I made and still have today, I don't think I would have ever gotten this far.
22. I take photos for two reasons, one because I see the world differently then most people and my photos are the only way I can let you into my brain.
23. I am brutally honest and hate when people lie to me. I would rather you pissed on my shoes then lie. Say it, get it over with and let's move on. Life is way to short, or had you not been told? Or did you get a guaranteed expiration date? I didn't.
24. I have found that a simple life with only the basics is the best way for me to live. I can then focus on the people most important to me and not things. It's not what you Have in your life, it's Who you have in your life. People show up at your funeral not your stuff.
25. I plan on staying in Slovakia for the rest of my life. I feel at home here like no other place and I will never be able to explain it. Trust me, when you know, you know.

27. The only truth in this world, is what can be proven mathematically, everything else is just opinion and is most likely wrong, including my own. And the only opinions that should ever matter are from the very small group of people you would take a bullet for. They are the only one's who you should be concerned with what they think. But always follow your heart.
28. I think organized religion is for people who lack imagination. God (I use the term Universe instead of God) is not just in a book or building or some guy dressed up funny outfit, but in everything, I mean Everything. I could go on for days about the size of the Universe, but will spare you.
29. Most times the majority is wrong. I am sure there is math to prove me wrong but it feels right. So when more than 70% of the population supports something I get scared and start to go the other direction.
30. I will be Emperor one day and everything will be OK. Trust me.
31. It's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop, so don't worry about the jump, just make sure you know how to land.
32. March 15th 1984 at 9:25 am I fell in love for the first time in my life. She and I are still good friends today.
33. Smoking only kills 33% of smokers, 66% die from something totally non smoking related. I love those odds so much I just had two smokes before writing this.
34. I suffer from Onset Insomnia and have since I was about 10. On average it is 2 hours after I get in bed before I fall asleep, unless I take a natural herbal remedy (I was hooked on sleeping pills for years, thus the herbal supplement) which has cut that time down to 30 minutes or less.
35. My motto is "Good things happen to me because I want good things to happen to me, bad things do not happen to me because I don't want bad things to happen to me." I have lived by this motto for the last 7 years now and it has worked out great for me. Feel free to use it yourself.
36. I will spend the rest of my life trying to make difference in someone's life to repay those who made such a difference in my life. I am sorry it took me so long to learn the lesson's they were trying to teach me.
37. I think to most important thing for me is that I left you with at least one great story you will tell people over and over again.
38. I only want kids if I can stay home and raise them. Mr. Mom is not a movie but a training film for me.

I was never going to pass it anyway. Geometry is such a waste of time, everything proved true, so why do I have to show you how it's true, it just is, accept it and move on. But Sonja Morrison was the hottest teacher I ever had so that is why I went to class.
44. My most favorite place in the whole world to hang out, without question is Barney's Lounge in Amsterdam. And will be happy to show any of my friends Amsterdam anytime they want to meet me there. I know the city like the back of my hand.
45. I can't see a persons aura but I can feel there color. It makes sense to me and it is why it is so easy for me to read people.
46. You must have been born between 1965 and 1980 to be in Generation X. The only generation that knew it was screwed from the start and thus prepared us for what is to come. Ours will be to one that saves us all.

55. A girl accidentally farting in front of a group of people is one of the funniest things to me. Especially if it is short high pitched squeakier you know she was trying so hard to hold in. It kills me just writing about it.
56. If you watch the first 3 seasons of the BBC show "Coupling" and do not think it is one of the best TV shows you have ever seen please go see a doctor. Season four is a let down due to a loss of a main character and I recommend you skip it. But rent the DVD's and watch them.
57. I am friends with many more woman than man for one simple reason. Woman will introduce you to a friend they think might be a good match for you. Guys never do that stuff. So the more woman I know and who really know me the better my chances of finding the right girl for me. So ladies who's that one girl you know who needs a nice guy? See, right now you are thinking, "Who do I know I could introduce Sean to?" My plan in action.
58. I spent almost as much time in Jason's hot tub drinking and smoking as I did attending class my senior year of high school. It was the greatest time and Jason the the best friend a person could ask for, even if he is Scottish, but if it's not Scottish, it's crap!

Someone is Tapping My Energy
I am not sure who it is that is doing it. On Sunday Feb 15 sometime between 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm CET (EST -6 hours) I felt and continue to feel a very strong emotional pain coming from someone else. I know some of you are thinking, like what, like "millions of voices crying out in pain and then suddenly silenced." kind of feeling? No Obi Won, but just one voice and it is not been silenced. But there is a disturbance in the force, that much I know. So I am writing this in hopes that the person who is doing it will contact me and let me know what is going on in there life that is causing them so much pain. I know this because I can feel the pain as well.
For any of you who might be laughing about this then you really don't understand the connections we share, the unseen and unknown forces that connects everything together, makes me sad.

Words Are Coming, I Promise.
I just can't seem to get them out of me, thus the videos and such but stick with me and I know I have stuff that is waiting to get out but the muse seems to be on holiday right now. I hope she returns soon. Until then you will have to deal with photos and videos but I do appreciate your patience with me and my slacker ways. I am what I am and nothing more, at least that's todays excuse.

RYANAIR SUCKS!!!!
UPDATE: Ryan Air Still Sucks!!!!
I got a comment today on this post and wanted to repost this so those who might have missed it get a chance to read it. Plus the more people who read it the more people less likely to fly Ryan Air and If I can get just 5 people never to fly them because of this then I will feel like I got pay back. Make sure to read the comments.
I am so fucking pissed off right now I don't even know where to begin other than Ryanair sucks, Ryanair sucks, Ryanair fucking sucks. Let me explain, I had a flight leaving from Shannon this morning at 6:40 to London. I then had a reservation for a 9:40am flight from London to Bratislava. So I get to the airport and they tell me that my flight is delayed and will not leave until 2:00pm. So now I will miss the connection in London. Not only will I miss my flight connection, they have no more flights to Bratislava today. I now have to buy whole new ticket to fly from London to Bratislava for the Monday morning flight that I should be on today. Even if they did have a later flight to Bratislava since I missed the 9:40 flight I would still have to buy a new ticket, even though Rynair is the reason I am late. Since my Monday flight does not get into Bratislava until 9:30am and I have a flight out of Vienna at 10:00am to Istanbul I had to change that flight as well. I now also have to book a hotel room in London for the night since there is no flights that get me from Shannon to Bratislava or Vienna today for less than $800.00. So extra cost for there problem, without the courtesy of a reach around is $60.00 for the change to the Istanbul flight, $140.00 for the new flight to Bratislava on Monday morning, $110.00 for the one night in the hotel. $30.00 for a taxi's to and from the airport. Plus another $50.00 in odd expenses, like food and lots of booze tonight. I think as a way to thank Ryanair for all the fun they have put me through that I eat a full English breakfast tomorrow and right before we get off the plane, induce vomiting and spew chunks all over the plane. Oh yeah I can forget trying to get any kind of refund from Ryanair, since the best I could get back would be some airport fees and taxes that amount to less than $30.oo So much for the money I thought I was saving by not flying a major carrier, because it will now cost me more than if I had just booked it on Aer Lingus from the start. Sometimes it doesn't pay to try and go cheap, I don't now why I don't follow my own advice, You Pay For Quality Once. So a $400.00 Ryanair fuck up, live and learn.

Oh yeah I can forget trying to get any kind of refund from Ryanair, since the best I could get back would be some airport fees and taxes that amount to less than $30.oo So much for the money I thought I was saving by not flying a major carrier, because it will now cost me more than if I had just booked it on Aer Lingus from the start. Sometimes it doesn't pay to try and go cheap, I don't now why I don't follow my own advice, You Pay For Quality Once. So a $400.00 Ryanair fuck up, live and learn.

Everyday Should Feel Like Christmas
I keep a christmas tree up all year around for one reason. Most everyone likes the feeling they have around christmas. The food, the friends, the presents, all good things. Well I think you should feel this way everyday and keeping a tree up reminds me everyday to think that christmas is just around the corner and will be here before you know it.

So I Have A Job
I just got a job teaching English at a private school to adults. It will be part time at first and then full time later. I will do some training tomorrow and Friday and then start teaching on Monday. I will let you know more as I find out. It is a quick 20 minute bus ride from the flat and the hours are either 8-10 am and 5-9pm so I am hoping for later classes but don't mind getting up at 7am to get to work by 8.

I Just Had the Best New Years Ever, No Doubt About It.
I have to tell you about my night. I thought I had a date for tonight but for whatever reason she did not contact me. No worries, the Universe always has a plan, you and I should, know that by now. So without a date for the evening I was in the flat alone, again not a big deal as I have done about 8 NYE alone. But this one was special. At 00:00 I went outside (-5c) and witnessed one of the greatest events of my life. From my balcony I have a great 180 degree view of the city. Not only is tonight special because it is new years eve but also because Slovakia's Independence Day. Add to that the historic event of full entry in E.U. with the adoption of the Euro currency. This is the second time I have been in a country that has changed currency to the Euro. The first time was Jan. 2002 when I was in Ireland and the first 16 (I think) countries adopted the Euro. Some of you might think, so what, big deal, but for me to be part of a historic event (fully automatic gun fire right outside now, that's a bit much, don't think guys?) So what I witnessed was 20 minutes of fireworks all over the city. To my far right view I watched the fireworks from Old Town and the main celebration for the country. And from that point to 180 degrees to my left the city was filled with hundreds of different people setting off their own fireworks. It was amazing, I could not even begin to do it justice trying to describe it. I didn't even want to leave to get my camera, mainly because I didn't want to miss any of it but also I knew that I could never capture the true feeling of what I was seeing and if I can't give you on film what I see in my brain I don't take the photo. I just can't capture the feeling of being there in person. I am sorry you missed it but for me it was magic. Pure and Simple. It also did another thing. It restored my hope in the future not just for me but for everyone. I believe now more than ever in the internal goodness in people and I think that these troubling times we have ahead, will show that more than anything and will touch people in ways they did not know possible. Some say I am to much of an optimist but I believe that one person can change the world if they really believe that they can. So that is what I will do, I will change the world for good because one person can and will change the world, because it is what I want. If any of you want to help me all you have to do is believe that you can and then we will. Much LOVE to all of you. I feel it trust me.

2008 - What Can I Say...
all in all, a great year. Sure it was not the easiest year at certain points compared to others I have lived in recent memory but still on balance a really great year. And I would not have changed any of it. Everyday I feel like I have been able to learn something I didn't know the day before that helps improve my life. Some people told me that I am too optimistic and positive all the time, well all I can say is this, it works for me so I will continue feeling this way. It can work for you only if you believe in it. It's easy, ask me and I can tell you how.

But most of all I learned more about myself in the last year and hope that in 2009 I will continue this quest. Trust me the more you know about yourself and exactly who you are, the happier you become.

Greetings from Istanbul
I am having a great time here. The only problem is the weather has been crappy and not worth taking photos when it is overcast all the time. I will hope I get some sun in the next two days. If not such is life, I will have to return in the future to get the photos I want. I know exactly where I want to take them but without the right light it is not worth lugging 25lbs on my back all day. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing right.
I would like to thank Zeynep and Irem for taking the time to spend with me and taking me around the city. Thank you both.

Merry Christmas To All
I just wanted to say Merry Christmas to all my loyal readers.
I am about to leave for a four day trip to Istanbul. I should have internet access and will try to post while I am there. I am really looking forward to seeing my Turkish friends and seeing more of the city. The weather looks like it might be ok for the first 2 days so I will see.

I Believe I See A New Bus Coming for Me
I am not positive but I think I see a bus with my name on it coming towards me. Again, I am not positive but I have a good feeling and my eye sight is very good. I will see as the bus gets closer but right now it seems to be about 8 days away. That may sound strange but make perfect sense to me.
I am sure that some of you who have been reading my stuff will get what I am talking about for the rest of you the best I can tell you is read my post about "the bus".
Remember, it is your universe and if you can learn to control even just a little bit of it you will be amazed at what can happen. If you think such things are impossible, then for you they will be impossible. But for me I prefer to think anything is possible and so far it works.

The Best Birthday Cake Ever
I want to thank my flatmates, Maria, Eva and Katka for giving me the best cake I could have ever dreamed of. Girls, this is why I am your houseboy, because you do things like this for me. Do you know how hard it will be for anyone to ever top this cake.
What you are looking at is one of my favorite pizza's of all times, The Mexicanna bez Kukurica (without corn) from Pizzeria Tiffany. (300m away from the flat.) It is salami, hot chilies and hot sauce. It is spicy and most people have trouble with how hot it is but I can't get enough heat.
It was such a surprise for me I had to share it with everyone.

Pavol Sipos is My Hero
Pavol found my wallet and passport in the taxi I had been in. Since it did not have my contact info for Bratislava in it, it took him a few days to track me down. He found a card to the car rental agency I use and asked if they had a phone number for me. They where able to give him Kate's phone number and he called her and got the address and brought it back to me.
For that I will make sure I do something very special for him and his girlfriend. He did not speak English but was able to explain to me enough for me to understand how he found me. I will never be able to thank him enough.

Cleaning Up My Mess
I got some good news this morning when I called the Embassy. I will be able to apply for a new Passport right here in Bratislava, which is great. I have my Birth Certificate and an old Passport being FedEx'ed to me hopefully by Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. It should only that 5-6 working days for them to process it and get it back from the States. Since I am not traveling in the next few days it is not a problem that I don't have a Passport.
My credit cards are all being replaced and I should have all of them by next week sometime. My ATM card will show up Tuesday I hope. I do have some cash on hand and my flatmates all have cash so it is not a problem, it just sucks not to have anything. I really do feel like a man without an identity right now and it is not a feeling I want again.
The upside is with a new Passport they really have know idea just how long I have been in Europe so for me I feel as if I was able roll back my odometer back to 000000 and start fresh again here. That is the great thing for me about Vienna airport, when get to Passport control, they just open stamp it and hand it back.

So My Bus Has Broken Down
The good news is help is on the way to get the bus going again. Thanks to my mom and step-dad who are sending me what I need.
So what happened, the simple answer is I lost my wallet and passport last night. I got way to drunk and lost it in the cab home. I made some bad choices last night and will pay for them now. It sucks but there is nothing I can do to change things so I will learn a $600.00 lesson. (cost of new passport, fedex cost for new cards, new card express fees, $240 for my flight I can't use now, etc.) The Ryanair experience taught me to wait for the good, and not to focus on the negative. So I will see what happens because I will not go to Amsterdam as planned on Monday. I hope to be able to visit Prague on Friday but I will not know until I call the Embassy on Monday to find out exactly what I need my mom to mail me so I can apply for a new passport. Loosing it sucks because I had so many stamps from so many places. But I remember them all and have photos so it is not the end of the world. I hope having a photocopy of both my passport and drivers license will help things along but I am prepared to fly home for a few days and get a new one if I really need to but I am almost sure I will be able to get a replacement in Vienna.
So lesson learned: Don't get so drunk you leave your wallet and passport in the cab.

My Plans For December Are Starting To Come Together
I have made my travel plans and they are as follows.
I hope to be in Kremnica Friday the 5th of Dec. and stay the weekend with Joey, Martina and other friends. Returning to Bratislava on Sunday the 7th.
On Dec. 8th I will fly from Vienna to Amsterdam. I will stay until the 12th. It is my birthday gift to myself. What can I say I love the city and if it was not so expensive I would move there for 3 or 4 months to really get to know it as well as I want to. For those who have never been I recommend you put it on the list of places to visit. The best way I can describe what I enjoy about it, is this; take the multicultural aspects along with great museums, great food, etc. about New York City and put it on a small scale. 600,000 people compared to 8 million in NYC. The lack of really tall buildings in the city center is also one of the great things about it. You could walk from one end of the city to the other in less than an hour and a half. I am hoping to get lucky and have it snow just a little while I am there. I would really like to have a Winter series of photos from Amsterdam.
On Dec. 12th I will fly to Prague and visit with my former flat-mate Eva. Her Birthday is the 6th but we are going to celebrate it on the 12th. My current flat-mates and a few others will take the train from Bratislava to Prague for the weekend. We will all then return by train on Sunday afternoon.
Then I have booked a flight to Istanbul on Christmas Day and will stay for 4 days visiting friends. I am really excited to go back to Istanbul. To me it is the jumbo size version of NYC and this is why I enjoy it. But that many people is somewhat overwhelming to me sometimes.
I hope but am not sure I will be back in Kremnica for New Years Eve. But if that doesn't work out then the dream would be to return to a tiny little town on the western coast of Ireland called Doolin but only if my friend Kelly flew over to celebrate it with me. And would require me to fly Ryan Air again, not something I want to do. We had a great time there in 2001 and always said we should do it again some day. The third choice would be Amsterdam of course.

My New Favorite Toy...
The Slingbox Pro - google it
The thing is great, I can watch live TV or from a Tivo (still the greatest thing EVER) at my Dad's house over the internet anywhere I have a high speed internet connection. I will see how it works in Slovakia. If it works like I think it will making watching Giants games simple. I will keep you updated.
For any of you who travel and miss seeing local coverage of sports and news while you are away from home, the Slingbox Pro is for you. The Solo is also good but spend the extra 20 bucks for the Pro, if you can find one. (I got so lucky to get mine but again, the Universe puts me where it needs me when it needs me there.) It was easy to hook up and setup , the only extra I needed was a wireless adapter. The kind the work on the Xbox 360 works with it and it was the easiest and cheapest solution to get it connected to the house wifi. It just plugs into the network port on the back of the Slingbox. That took about 3 minutes to setup with a PC before connecting it to the Slingbox. After making the connections in the back of the box I plugged it in and worked perfectly. You download the software (Mac or PC) and it walks you through setting up the the Slingbox. It took less than 10 min. but I was taking my time, mainly because I was amazed how cool it was and easy to setup. I then spent the next two hours just playing around with settings and basically went into super geek mode. I have tested over the internet and it works great. the faster your internet connection the better.

I Leave for Home Soon
I have been in the States for the last 11 days visiting friends and family. I had a great time but I am ready to get back home in Bratislava. What can I say, I miss being a houseboy. The NY Giants game was great and I had a great time hanging out with Jason. (J - I told you that you would love having a Mac.) It was great to see the newest edition to the family, Conner. I got a chance to visit with my friend Kelly in D.C. She took me to a great little local place near her house called the Red Derby. I am now in NJ at my Dad's house until I leave tomorrow. I fly out from JFK at 6pm and should be back in Vienna around 9am. I can't wait.

I Am Back In America
I flew in yesterday afternoon in to Newark and meet up with my friend Jason, who flew in from Virginia. We just got back from the Giants - Cowboys game. Nice win for the Giants!!! (sorry Jason) We will drive to Richmond tomorrow morning. I will stay in Richmond at least a few days before heading back north. I have not decided if and when I will stop by Camp. I will see what things I need to get from the cabin and decide later if it worth the drive to get what I need. I am also thinking about visiting my brother Ben in Vermont, I would like to visit to see the renovations he did on the house that I lived in 2 years ago. I will then spend a few days in New Jersey before flying back to Slovakia for the next five months.
Yup you read that correctly, I will not be back for five months. I plan on a two week visit in early April. Over the next five months I am going to study, study, study. I am really into the idea of learning to speak Slovak, even though I know it is one of the hardest languages to learn. I really like living there and I need to be able to communicate with everyone not just the younger people who speak English. Plus I really want to see if I have the stones to actually do the work I need to do for me to learn the language. As most of you know, for me, school and studying rates slightly higher than getting kicked in the nuts while holding a baby. I will let you know how it goes.
